It's August already?? Where has summer gone??? We have been SO busy this summer enjoying the weather that it seems like we blinked and now the locust are humming, talk of school is starting, and NFL football starts in a few days!!! WOW! As much as I love summer and how much fun we've had, fall is my FAVORITE time of the year!!! (Its just what comes after fall that Im dreading) This week since it was so blasting hot we pretty much just stayed cool by going to the splash pad! Merrick LOVES the splash pad, its free, and we stay cool. A win win situation. He runs non stop the entire time. Instead of the splash pad Merrick calls it "the shower!" Im guessing because there is an area of the splash pad that resmebles the shower??

Firday was a rain day for us. We had plans to attend a MOPS playdate but the rain started at 9am! Merrick decided playing doctor with Jazzi (she's such a good sport!) and helping daddy clean the fridge out was his choice of activity. Especially when cleaning the fridge out means WHIP CREAM!!!

Friday evening Dan and Tami came to visit. We took Merrick to Chucky Cheese for the 1st time. He wore us ALL out! He had a great time playing the games, riding the rides, eating pizza, and playing with Papa and Grandma!

Saturday the 3 of us headed up to Cedar Falls. We had a family day!!! Merrick was very UNSURE of the water park at first as there was a giant bucket that filled with water then dumped over the entire kids area making a HUGE sound! He was in tears the first time this happened with him repeating "I no like the bucket!". POOR GUY!! With a lot of reassurance he liked to play in the area by the time we left. His favorite part of the park was the elephant water slide and the lazy river. I think in the 3 hrs we were at the park we went around the lazy river 10 times! It was a fun day full of sun!!!

The potty progress is coming right along. This week Merrick picked out a puzzle at Target. He got his 25 stickers again today so we will see what he'll pick out next! He has caught onto the jelly bean reward. He found 2 easter eggs and insists on his jelly beans being put in the eggs after he goes potty. Then asks for more once his 4 jelly beans are gone. We remind him that he has to go potty in order to get the jelly beans. He responds to "Merrick potty more!" And the lil stink does just that! A little more potty in the chair and he runs out to the kitchen bare butt asking for "more elly beans eggs please!" No wonder he gets 25 stickers in 4-5 days!!! Look how full this chart is!!! WHAT A BIG BOY!!!



Enjoy your 1st week of August! This week we are attempting Merrick's 1st movie at the kids free movie and this weekend we have 2 birthday parties. As always more pictures to come! :) Have a good one!
