Tomorrow is Monday already!?!? Where does the weekend go??? This week has seemed to be a blur. Lincoln sold his truck in trade for a Ford Excursion. Lincoln had put his truck on craigslist to see if he'd get a bite on the price (which he will admit that he never thought anyone would buy it for what he was asking) BUT someone out of Missouri offered him a reasonable price and Lincoln took it. He bought an Excursion which is more family friendly and PAID FOR! Lincoln is very happy with his trade and will admit to liking the Excursion better than the truck!
So that event took up MOST of our week but not all of it. Merrick has had a love for wagon rides lately and will buckle himself in then ask for "wagon wide, pease!" A couple of times this week we got caught in the rain!!!Tuesday Merrick and his buddy Kael went to a Monster's vs. Aliens movie. One of the theaters in Cedar Rapids has a free kids movie everyweek. They have the K-9 squad from the police department there handing out stickers to the, clowns making balloon animals, and other fun vendors handing out kid friendly prizes. Merrick especially liked the police and his dog. Merrick did really well sitting. He made it through 3/4 of the movie before he got bored (I think the box of Mike and Ikes helped!) and started talking VERY loudly in which we did end up leaving. He did not seem one bit sad about the fact he was done sitting still :)
Saturday morning the family ventured to the Cedar Rapids farmers market. This farmer's market is 8 blocks with many vendors and lots of fun things to look at. Merrick especially liked the band who played on pots, pans, and plastic buckets. He would have sat there for hours watching them if time had allowed!
This weekend was full of celebrations! First on Saturday we celebrated Hudson's 1st birthday. As many of you know Hudson was born by emergency c-section due to lack of fetal movement that was caused by a fetal maternal internal bleed. Long story short he is a miracle baby and we felt truly blessed to share in this big milestone for Hudson.
Merrick enjoyed the bouncy house, playing with the other kids, monkey cupcakes, and suckers!!! Needless to say he was BEAT by the time we got home.
Today we traveled back home for my high school friend Nikki's daugther's 2nd birthday. Hailey and Merrick are 6wks apart so its always fun to get them together and let them play. Nikki has started going back to school for nursing so we have not had as much time with them so it was great to catch up. The only picture I got of Merrick with the birthday girl both are in DESPERATE need of a nap!
The potty progress is going well still. Merrick has regularly started asking go potty(#1) when we are doing fun things and even in public (movie, both birthday parties, when outside playing, water park) YES! He's getting the hang of it. We haven't tried big boy undies yet since the diarrhea I told you about a few posts back is still lingering it's ugly head! In fact I did end up taking him to the doctor to make sure it wasn't a bacterial infection since it has been around more than 2 wks! Dr. Shire linked it to an infection from the frog he played with while we were home on the 4th. Dr. Shire said that due to all the rain and the stagnant water in Iowa there has been a lot of infections from reptiles! NICE! Of course Merrick would catch that!! With some meds and lots of starchy foods the diarrhea has gotten a LOT better so hopefully soon we can work on the potty progress of #2!! This week Merrick picked out a HAWKEYE FOOTBALL for his potty prize! GO HAWKS! (We're gonna make Daddy a hawk fan yet ;) He was so proud of his football!
Hope you all have a great week. See ya next weekend!!!
