Let Freedom Ring...

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!! We had great time with friends and family. Im going to appologize in advance for how long this post is but I couldn't leave out ANY pictures. First off this week we had playdates and playtime as usually. We swam with Lynston, Dru, and the kids. When we came home we found Daddy working on his truck. Merrick grabbed a wrench and crawled under to help daddy. He's definatly a BIG helper!!!

Saturday we left for home to spend time with family and go to a wedding. Good friends of Lincoln's family, the Knoots, daughter got married. Merrick was entertained by one of the grandpa's motorized cart and thought it was a pretty fun toy! Merrick was SO excited for the dance. He participated in the dollar dance and when his dance with Allison, the bride, was over a little fit was thrown! He then decided that NO ONE and when I say no one this means NOT mommy, daddy, grandpa, grandma, NO ONE on the "other" side of the rope light out lining the dance floor. If anyone were to step over the rope light he would take your hand and remind you by saying "out" and placing you on the other side! Then there was a little boy who also wanted to dance but stepped OVER the rope light which resulted in a puffed chest and Merrick nose to nose with this lil boy proclaiming "OUT!". Mommy had to remind him that we have to share! :)On the 4th we were able to spend time with Dan and Tami and my mom's side of the family. In our few short hours in the morning with them we did MANY things. Dan, Lincoln, and Merrick started the morning off by shucking sweet corn. YUM! Merrick liked it so much he ate it RAW! We got out the kite and flew the kite for awhile. Merrick thought it was cool for awhile. We then attempted to go fishing but the rain did not really cooperate so we came home with a frog or as Merrick says "wog". He liked touching the frong only if someone was holding it. Once the rain subsided we got the sprinkler out and grandma and Merrick played in the sprinkler. After the sprinkler it was time to eat the sweet corn. Merrick ate 2 ears of corn! I think he LOVED it! Make your own opinion based on the pictures. Later that afternoon we headed to New Sharon to say good bye to my cousin Dacia, Dustin, and their 3 kids as Dustin has finished his PhD and is now serving our country by joining the Navy. God bless all those who serve our country to protect our freedom. It was a great time to remeber the real reason of our Independence Day! While at the get together Merrick discovered by Grandpa's tractor. For those of you who don't know but my grandpa passed away almost 4 yrs ago. My cousin who hosted the get together now lives on Grandpa and Grandma's farm. These pictures remind me of the times my brother and I rode on this tractor with grandpa. It definatly brought back MANY memories being on the farm. We headed for home after the get together in hopes that Merrick would nap on the way home...but no luck. We got home and the rain came! We decided to do sparklers in the garage...which turned into a VERY short sparkler event. After the 1st sparkler went out Merrick grabbed the end of the sparkler burning 3 of his fingers on the tip before Lincoln or I could grab it! Poor buddy!! He then had to call papa and mama and tell them that "fire do it". Ok enough for now, but check back for updates on the newest things Merrick is doing AND we have our 1st swimming lesson tomrrow! Have a great week!!!!!
