Hello again! We've literally been on the go this week! Swim lessons are still going on and going well for the most part. Merrick gets a little bored and then wonders :) but for the most part is doing a great job. We have swim lessons every M,W,F for 30 mins. MOPS is getting close to starting up and I have volunteered with helping with some of the crafts so meetings have started for that (playdates for Merrick) and I am helping with VBS this year so there has been some meetings for that which starts next week! We also had a little mishap at the Taylor house last Friday. The plan was if all had went as planned to go to swim lessons and if Merrick was looking like he would nap after lessons heading back home to see Lincoln's aunts from New York and Texas. Good thing I had not mentioned much to anyone as it was a very tenative plan because on my way to swim lessons I get a call from Lincoln asking "Where the St Lukes ER was??? WHAT!!!??!!! Lincoln was laying steel sheeting and the chain with a hook snapped off hitting him in the arm! He said the pain was so intense it made him sick--literally. Needless to say he thought he broke his arm! Thankful it wasn't a broken arm but a bone bruise and a damaged periostium (which is the covering of the bone that connects the liagements and tendons!) but we would have been thankful that if the bone was broken that was all that had happened...it could have been much worse! So needless to say by the time Lincoln had gotten his results it was later in the afternoon so we did not get to see them :(! Lincoln is feeling much better now after being on a 10lb weight limit for a week. He was very ready to be done filing papers at the office and get back to the site doing what he does best...getting dirty :)
This week we had planned a playdate w/ Leah, Corban, and Chase at Aunt Linda's house. It was a great day filled with sun, great conversation and water! Chase and Merrick had a great time playing together and LOVED doing the slip in slide! Leah and I even brave enough to try the cold water! The boys were exhausted by the time we left! Merrick still talks about "Shase, Baby Orbn and Ee-ah!"
Our garden is coming along and the green beans are YUMMY. Merrick loves the green beans cooked or raw! Here's a picture of him swinging and munching on his "een bean".
Today (Saturday) we took a break from all the busy and just had a "non planned" family day. I worked until 12pm. The busy of the week had caught up to Mommy and Merrick because we slept for 3.5 hrs each! Daddy said he wondered if we were ever gonna wake up! :) We then drew with side walk chalk, grilled and went for a bike ride to Noelridge park to check out the flower gardens!! We like to look at all the different flowers and get new ideas for our flower beds!
While we were at the park Merrick loved the big open space and would just run and run and run! Poor kid was so hot but he didn't seem to mind at all. While were there Merrick noticed "the moon Mommy!" in the sky. Im telling you he does not miss a thing! He wanted so badly to "touch it"!!!!
While walking through the park tonight I hear Lincoln say "Merrick why did you just do this?" I turn around and this is what I see...Merrick obviously didnt think daddy need his shorts anymore! Good thing Lincoln had his biking shorts on underneath! :) Haha! I couldn't stop laughing! Im telling you to live with Lincoln AND Merrick...there's never a dull moment!
I thougth while at the park I could snap some cute pictures of Merrick smelling the flowers. When I told him to smell the flower he licked it and quickly replied "I no like it Mommy!" This is the newest pharase when Merrick doesn't want to eat something or do something! In this case he was referring to the taste!!!
This week we have swim lessons, VBS and Lincoln and I are going on a date to the Lady Antebellum concert so stay tuned for pics next weekend! Have a great week and stay cool!
