Prayer Request

It has been a little "different" week at the Taylors. First off it started by the transmission acting up in my SUV. Thankfully our good friend Nathan works for Lynch Ford was able to pull some strings and the SUV is being looked at on Monday! I forget how much you rely on a car when you start having troubles with the one you have~ Very minor to what else happened this week!

So this leads to my prayer requests. Monday Merrick was eating a fruit snack and choked! I did the finger sweep got the fruit snack out and we went about the rest of our day! Thursday he choked again on some bread! Last evening he choked AGAIN this time resulting in a scarier situation. He was finishing supper and was eating goldfish at the time. He started coughing and crying but was making NO noise! I got him out of his high chair and gave him 3 back blows before being able to unlodge the cracker. His lips had turned blue on me! Talk about SCARY! You're nursing judgement seems to not be so good when it's your child! He vomited when I was able to unlodge the cracker! Needless to say when he started crying and making sound we both cried! Scared me half to death! I took him to see his pediatrician this AM for hopefully an answer to all this choking. He has been teething and within the past 2 wks has 4 new teeth therefore has had a runny nose for about 3 wks now(a typical teething symptom for Merrick!). Thinking that maybe the drainage had increased or his tonsils were swollen was the cause for all this choking. Upon his examination there was nothing found! Dr. Wickenkamp said he looked PERFECT! Dr. Wickenkamp told us to watch him closely and if he chokes again to call her and a swallow study would need to be preformed. Please pray that these 3 incidents were just something that happened for no reason and that there will be no need for a swallow study. He acts perfectly normal otherwise...happy, busy, and cute as ever! I will keep you all updated on this lil mans progress! Thank you for your prayers!
