BRRR...

Well HELLO! winter! Wow is it chilly here! I have really turned into a baby (spoiled as Lincoln describes it) getting to stay home and not having to go out in the cold makes the days that I do have to brave the elements TERRIBLE! In fact I think of an excuse to not go out in the cold!!! Merrick even isn't a fan of the cold. The other day we ran to get groceries and as I was getting him outta the car he says "Mommy its fweezing. Get me a blanket and cober me up!" We are very happy to stay inside and play! ;) We enjoyed watching a Christmas movie cuddled up under the electric blanket!
I have posted some of our 2010 family pictures along with Merrick's 2 yr pictures. My friend Sarah Turnbull takes pictures and does an amazing job. She's such an awesome person and highly recommend if you ever are in the New Sharon area and in need of pictures to give her a call! I couldn't post all of them as she took 130 some pictures!
There were so many good ones and I finally figured out a way to display my favorites without having pictures setting all over the house...
Along with this decorating completed we framed Merrick's footprint and found a special place for it. Im still trying to decide on the next art project!
Our big outting this week was Santa! Lincoln ended up getting called back to work this week as there were some new jobs that had popped up. We wanted him to be a part of it and didn't want to fight the after 5 crowd so when Daddy got off work early on Friday we headed out! We met Lincoln at the mall. Merrick had found Santa before Lincoln had gotten there so I distracted him by letting him throw pennies into the fountain.
I saw Lincoln walking a ways away and held Merrick up so he could see Lincoln. Merrick than YELLING at the top of his lungs says "Daddy, I found him! LOOK! He's right there! LOOK DADDY!" Pointing towards Santa! As soon as Daddy got to us Merrick was off for Santa. Last year Im sure you all remembered he did NOT! like Santa and this year well...he LOVED him!

Here he is telling Santa that he wants a nerf gun (Oh! Poor Jazzi!) and a sleeping bag...a blue one!
He had so much fun Lincoln had to go get him off Santa's lap so the other children in line could have a turn. Merrick didn't have a problem getting off his lap cause he just went and stood back in line! Funny kid!
Saturday night we headed to North Liberty for a Christmas party get-to-gether with some of Lincoln's old roommates from college. We had a great time, however I think Merrick had the most fun! Adam played chess with Merrick and Adam and Andrew helped him build forts outta the couch cusions. Merrick could not stop squealing from delight! Adam is going to be a daddy in March and will be a great one at that. We joked with his wife that she may be the only parent in the house :)

Merrick loved the fort so much we built one today at home. Card table, pillows, and some blankets made for an all day event! He even went as far as to tell me "No giwrls allowed, Only boys" I do think however dad had something to do with that :)
Hope you are all staying warm...next weekend we venture out to Des Moines for Christmas with my dad. Thanks for checking in and have a great week!
