He picked out the "shell" and then the lady helped us stuff it. Merrick ran the controls by pushing a button on the floor! He thought that was pretty cool!!!
Then he got to pick out a heart for the bear to put inside before the nice lady would sew up the bear!
After the sewing was done Merrick got to give the bear a "air" bath in the bathtub. He loved this...again another button to push on the floor that caused air to come out of the shower head to fluff the bear up!
Then it was off to pick out clothes for the bear and name the bear to receive the "birth certificate"
Meet GUS! The newest member of the Taylor family...with of course Merrick's choice a hawkeye t-shirt!
And Gus has done everything we've done this week. On Monday he got to...
Watch the kids movie...
Ride the carosel...
Playing on the rides...
And taking a nap! :)
From there Merrick's week got a little rough! Later that day Merrick tripped over his blankies and fell hitting his chin on his bed splitting it open. Luckly NO stitches. Then on Saturday while playing with Daddy Merrick face planted on the hardwood floor catching himself by his nose! By the time I got to him after hearing the terrible sound his head made on the floor and his crying there was a good amount of blood coming from both his nose and mouth! Once cleaned up I could see the front 2 teeth had cut the inside of his upper lip and he broke the frenulum (the piece of skin connecting the lip to the gum) off! His nose was SWOLLEN along w/ the upper lip and continued to seep blood! I was afraid he had broke it! I called the on call peds doctor at our group and she told us even if it was broken w/ all the swelling we would have to wait and to watch his breathing and if he seems congested then he would need to be seen. He still seems kinda congested but there is still a good amount of swelling so we'll see what tomorrow brings!! Ready here's what my poor precious boy's face looks like!
This was about 1 hr after it happened. POOR BOY!!!!
This is today. You can see the lip swelling decreased his nose is still pretty swollen and he has a HUGE bruise on the left side of his nose that continues to become darker! We have SO much to be thankful that it didnt turn out more serious than it did!
Saturday my dad and step mom came to visit along w/ my brother. It was nice to catch up and Papa Rick brought Merrick a BIG tonka truck!!! He hasn't stopped playing w/ it yet. In fact 7am when Merrick woke up he asked to play with his "dump twuck".
Merrick figured out how to sit in the back of the truck and wheel himself around like a wheel chair...pretty clever!
While at our house he convince "Uncle Buger!" aka my brother Heath to take a nap with him...here are the 2 boys snoozin...from the looks of it he didn't have to twist his arm too hard ;)
I hope our week next week is less eventful and we will be enjoying Thanksgiving w/ Lincoln's side this year! Please pray for Lincoln's Grandma Boswell as we just received word she is in the hospital. We don't have much for details just yet. Have a great Thanksgiving!!! I know at this Taylor house God has been so good to us and we have MUCH to be Thankful for!
