AMEN!

Sorry for all of you who check this every Sunday when I update but last night we had an internet outage and therefore was unable to update! Last week seems so long ago!!! MOPS started and our Bible Study group. The other days we laid low and played at parks, outside or just around the house. Merrick's newest favorite is playing games. He loves hide and seek or taking a deck of cards and passing them back and forth between Lincoln or myself acting like he's playing a game! It really is pretty cute. So this past week I decided to take the camera with me during "ready or not here I come" because his face can be so funny at times! And yoc can always bet to find him in his closet standing on the tub of clothes that don't fit anymore!
Saturday was the Swamp Fox festivle in Marion so we went out as a family for breakfast first before hitting up the parade! We stopped at Country Kitchen so Im sure you all know about the jelly packets they have on their tables....WELL Merrick decided to have a snack before his food arrived. One spoonful and the pack was gone...then he was onto Apple Butter before I had a chance to move it...Im telling you this kid is FAST!!!! (Well I guess maybe he wouldn't have been so fast if I wouldn't of needed a picture of it!)

We then went onto the parade. This parade was probably the LONGEST parade I have ever been to. It lasted a little around 1hr 45 mins!!! But Merrick was thrilled with all the police, fire trucks, horses, tractors, and bands! And dont forget all the CANDY! they were throwing.

Merrick was great at showing his respect for our soldiers and the flag. God Bless America!

We even found our friend Kael and watched the parade with him!! They were good candy "getters"!There was an entry where a man was driving his tractors and had all different sized play tractors attached to his following behind. This was Merrick's favorite entry!!! He constantly asked for the "Monkey dribe that tractor again!"

Later that evening we went to Cedar Falls to celebrate with Lincoln's cousin Rachael and soon to be husband Joe at their wedding! The wedding was beautiful...all the fall colors were amazing!

The wedding was a great time to see family! And make memories...which leads to the title of the blog today. The wedding was over, the bride, groom, and attendants had exited but came back in the aisle for prayer before dismissing the crowd for supper. Lincoln and I have been telling Merrick when we pray "It's time to talk to Jesus" so he closes his eyes and will say his Amen when we are done. So it was time for prayer and I had told Merrick it was time to talk to Jesus. He smiled and closed his eyes. The pastor I guess was taking to long to wrap it up and Merrick opened his eyes about 1/2 through and said "Amen" in a whisper. I had told Merrick the pastor is not done praying. Merrick became irritated with how long everything was taking and his amens started to get louder and louder until all the sudden..."AMEN AMEN AMEN!" at the top of his lungs! The crowd started to laugh and the pastor proclaimed "Hey this is my church!" Needless to say we had a lot of people ask us if this was the "Amen Boy!" Oh Merrick! :)

See you all next week! There will be lots of pictures Im sure as we are having Merrick's 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!! Mickey mouse style! See you then and have a great week!!!
