Are you ready for fall?? After this week I know we are! It was so miserable outside and poor Lincoln had to work in it everyday! We played inside most of the week and in the water if outside. The the stomach flu hit all three of us and Merrick ended up with croup this week so our plans of playdates/State Fair did not happen! We are feeling much better now!!! Before we all got sick Merrick played in his pool most of Tuesday afternoon and took a break every now and again to help Lincoln and Blake on building a sub box for "daddy's new truck" as Merrick would say!
Friday night was the first day we all felt normal. We had a family supper picnic on the living room floor and ate pizza (one of Merrick's favorites!) The picture is of Merrick laughing at Daddy!
Hanging out this weekend I got a couple really good pictures of how much Jazzi and Merrick are best buds! She tolerates him so well and he LOVES LOVES LOVES her! Merrick kisses her good night, prays for her before bed, and reads her stories!! :)
Today (Sunday) was such a beautiful day that for some reason Merrick thought it was a good idea to enjoy it at 6:30A.M.! So we got up made pancakes and ate breakfast outside! It was cool enough that we needed long sleeve shirts before we were done! It was AWESOME!
Later today Lincoln took Merrick to Blake's house because Blake had DIGGERS there! Merrick thought he was BIG stuff driving these diggers!!! He was in 7th Heaven!!
And now for the BIG news....Merrick has officaly learned how to climb in and out of his crib so today we transformed his baby bed to a "big" boy bed. At nap we tried laying him in his bed and walking out of the room (as we usually do) but we heard closet doors and dresser drawers opening and shutting. :) I laid next to his bed w/ him and he was out in 2 mins no joke! However when he woke up he did not come out as I had expected him to...but instead I heard the opening and closing of the drawers again! He greeted me with a great big smile and said "Merrmick no nap". Tonight I laid with him again and then had to sneak out to go back to work but he did not come out or get up and when I checked on him at my break he was still in his bed! Oh where did my baby go?? We will "revamp" his room into his "airplane"room that Merrick picked out for his birthday (shhh...dont tell him) ;)
