What a week! It has been busy but GREAT! We were suppose to have our MOPS get-together last Tuesday but it was canceled due to rain--rain date is 6-1-2010. We had another play date canceled because the other kiddos were sick! Poor boys! So look for pictures later for those play dates! But Lynston and I took the kids to the splash pad and Merrick LOVED LOVED LOVED it! You can see from the pictures how excited he was about it all. He literally ran around like a crazy man for 2 hrs and then crashed when we got home for a 3 hr nap. He fell asleep in our bed and Lincoln woke him up when he got home from work. :) For those of you who did not already know there was some suspicion about Merrick having a peanut allergy. We had given him a ritz cracker with peanut butter on it a few months ago and he immediately spit it out! Started scratching on his tongue and broke out in hives. A few weeks ago he had taken a bite of no bake cookie which has peanut butter in it and with benadryl given immediately after still broke out in hives! We had an appt with his pediatrician for allergies (seasonal) and mentioned this to her. She ordered a nut panel test to rule anything out!Thursday we received the test results from Merrick's nut allergy. He is defiantly allergic to peanuts. There are 5 levels of the allergy and Merrick is at a 3 almost 4 to peanuts, and a class 2 to almond and cashews! So now we have an Epipen in case he would ever come in contact with these and have a reaction. Needless to say I have had to do LOT of label reading and make sure that he is not eating anything that has nuts or made with nuts in it. He can not even have oreos cause they are manufacture with nuts!!! Crazy huh?!?! Ive been doing a lot of research to make sure that we do the best possible for him. As Lincoln says...guess we will have to "GO GREEN!" :)
Saturday we traveled to Des Moines to see my Dad, step mom, and some great friends from Colorado! Zach (Lincoln's old roommate and former team member) was visiting family over the past weekend and we were able to have a BBQ with him and his new fiance! Congrats guys! It was great to catch up!!! The pictures below are Zach and Lincoln cooking supper and Nicky and myself.
Merrick's new favorite game is to play in the dog's cage. Gross I know but Boys WILL be boys right!?!? So when we were at Dad's Merrick wanted everyone with him IN the dog's cage. As you know with Merrick everyone has to have a turn and be equal. How did daddy get out of this one??
Sunday afternoon after much needed naps the 3 of us ventured out to the splash pad and park for a few hours. Lincoln had a great time watching Merrick RUN! Merrick also found a playmate at the park and the two little boys kept giving each other hugs! Merrick is such a lover!!
On Memorial day we decided to have FAMILY DAY! We feel that now that I work evenings we miss out some on the 3 of us so we planned to go to the park, Old Mc Donald's farm and have an old fashion picnic---blanket, cold meat sandwiches, cheese sticks and grapes! It was great!!!! While at Old Mc Donald's farm Merrick decided for whatever reason it was a good idea to HEAVE his hat about 6 ft to the water...Daddy thought he could hold onto Mommy's ankles so she could pick it up! Mommy found the man that works there with the key to get down below the fence! :) Needless to say we did get the hat back and Merrick didn't wear it until we were done with Old Mc Donald's farm! We enjoyed our morning together, our 3 hour nap (yes this weekend wore us ALL out!) and supper together before I had to work. I want to take this time to say a BIG thanks to our family and all those who have served our country so that our tomorrow can be better than today! We are very proud of you and love you all very much Uncle Johnny, Aunt Terri, Scott, Ben, and Lance! Enjoy the pictures...
