Bucket List week 3

Week 3 of our bucket list....we are having so much fun doing all these fall things. Im gonna be sad to see it go! We started off by "booing" our friends. Merrick had so much fun leaving the treat by the door step and RUNNING! I think he may try to find a reason to "boo" after the season is over :) We crossed off another Pumpkin Patch visit and Hay Rack Ride on our list this week. Merrick and I met Dan and Tami at the pumpkin patch in Grinnell and had a great time. The weather was perfect and we had a BLAST! Enjoy all the pictures :)
As you can see we had a great time at the pumpkin farm. I think Merrick's favorite part was playing with the kittens. Pretty sure we spent an hour or longer in the barn holding them and playing with them.

We also crossed off making Fall Cookies bucket list. Merrick wanted to make chocolate cookies so we did the chocolate crinkle cookies. I'm not sure how "fall" these cookies are but none the less we made them. Merrick's favorite part was licking the spoon and bowl! What a chocolate mess! :)
I'd say we had another successful fall week!

Allergy update

So Thursday we got the RAST test results. The levels of nuts are broken down into 5 classes. 1 being low and 5 being severely allergic. Last years results were level 4 for Peanuts, 2 for cashews, and 1 for almonds. This year his levels were 2 for Peanuts, 1 for Cashews and Almond did not register as an allergy this year. The doctor said this meant 1 of 2 things. 1) He possibly could be outgrowing the allergy OR 2) He has had little to no exposure that the antibody levels in his body have decreased as they are no longer trying to fight off any of the allergens. So what does this mean? She said we could have further testing done--the skin pricks but that would be ALOT (around 100) of pricks which would show us if he truly was growing out of the allergy or if it was because of no exposure OR we could continue as we are doing since he is with either Lincoln or myself 99% of the time and we would do the skin prick test once he got closer to school. Lincoln and I decided that we would continue to carry on the way we have been for the past almost 2 yrs avoiding all nuts for him as we did not feel that at the age of 3 around 100 pricks would be the way to go. We will probably have his RAST testing done yearly to see the levels and then before he heads off to Kindegarten the skin test will need to be done to determine the most accurate levels of his allergy. We are thanking God that his levels show a decrease and that he has allowed me to have the job I have so I can do the best of my ability in taking care of him and Merrick not having to be in daycare where we would need to constantly be worried about exposures. Thank you for your prayers!

Prayer request

An old high school friend's mom passed away this week after a 5 yr battle of cancer. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. They will need many prayers to get through the upcoming days.

Have a great fall week...we have much more planned!
Catcha next week :)
