A slow down...

Nothing really exciting happening here this week. We actually came home from the wedding Sunday and wore our sweats and comfy clothes until Thursday(we did shower and change every day) but only left the house 1 time in between there! We were EXHAUSTED! On Monday after the wedding Merrick slept 13 hrs Sunday into Monday and then took a 3.5 hr nap! (So did Mommy!) We pretty much played outside, went for wagon rides, played in the sand box, read books, played dress up, and caught up on some household chores!!
Merrick refuses to sit in his booster chair anymore and to "sit like Mommy Daddy do" on the big chairs. So I had taken the booster seat off the chair to clean it and had set it by the basement door to take downstairs on the next trip. While putting laundry away I come into the living room to find Merrick buckled into the chair w/ all 3 straps walking around attached to the chair. He thought that was pretty cool and stayed attached to the chair for at least 45 mins-1 hr.
This week we did work on the potty training since we were home a lot but didnt have much luck. I dont think Merrick has the "sensation" yet of having to go cause he would tell me he had to go potty WHILE going! Oh well he's just 2 we'll just take it slow! But since working more on the potty training he has become a "no pants" kinda guy! He likes to run around in his BVDs. The other day we were playing and he wanted to dress up with a belt like mommy's. So he put on a red belt of mine, his slip on shoes, his stocking hat and no pants then told me "Bye Mommy. Going to work, make money" (This is what we tell him when I have to "go to work" or go downstairs after he asks why...to make money) He has quite the imagination!!!
Thursday when we did leave the house we went to help our friend Landon Einck or should we say Officer Einck celebrate the completion of his Police Academy training for the Cedar Rapids Police Department! CONGRATS Landon! I dont know if you remember but Landon is Baby Hudson's daddy. The baby we asked for so many prayers for a little over a year ago as he was born with an internal bleeding and had to spend 2 wks in the NICU! God has truly blessed this family with many amazing things!
Look how big Hudson is now!!! God is GOOD!
The kids had a blast playing fooseball at the graduation party!
This weekend not a whole lot of exciting things happened. I had a Silpada Jewelry party and a Usborne kids book party so Dan and Tami and mom and Heath came up for the party. We got to spend sometime with them which was nice. After the party we had "birthday supper" for mom since my brother could not join in on the spa party as he was working that weekend. Then off to the park for family Christmas card pictures. I cant believe that time is here already. They turned out pretty good!
I hope you all had a relaxing week and weekend. We sure needed it. In fact I just told Lincoln Ill be glad when October is gone cause we only have 3 things going on in Nov!! INCLUDING the holiday!!! We've been gone or had something planned every weekend since Merrick's birthday party! This week will consist of MOPS, Bible study, the apple orchard, and family pics/ Merrick's 2 yr pics, Fall fest at church (fall party for kids) and trick or treat! Im tired again! ;) Ok Im off to bed to rest up for the week!!! Have a good one!!!
