Happy Birthday Papa!

Hello everyone! We hope that you all had a wonderful weekend like we did. This past week we did not get to do much cause it's been raining SOOOO dang much but Merrick played with Paxton and Sawyer a couple days and Mommy and Merrick hung out the rest of the time! Merrick has been Mommy's big helper lately. The other day we were sweeping and was putting the rugs back. I asked Merrick to put the shoes back on the rug. When I came back around the corner this is what I found...Oh! He melts my heart. I thought this was TOOO CUTE to not post!!!!

Merrick has 1 fear in his life and its thunder or "under" as he calls it! Merrick and I were at Dan and Tami's dropping off their truck when a storm hit Oskaloosa and hit their generator causing a HUGE bang! It was quite an experience for Mr. Merrick and since then he has been a little gun shy about the booms! that come with thunder. We have been telling him thunder isn't scary cause it brings rain!!! He smiles but quickly cuddles up to us. He was glued to daddy...as bad as this sounds I hate that he is scared of the thunder but its OH SO NICE to cuddle with him!

Sunday Dan and Tami came up for a visit to celebrate Father's day and Dan's Birthday so we took Saturday to prepare for the party!!! We made a family effort in baking a cake! Merrick had great fun breaking the eggs and mommy and daddy scrambled to pick the shells outta the mix!!! Just adds flavor right!?!? :) After nap we frosted the cake which was Merrick's FAVORITE part!!! Once we got the cake frosted he STILL couldn't keep his fingers outta the frosting. But we knew Papa would like the added decorations of fingerprints!!! These pics are pricesless!!!

Merrick was so excited for Papa's party that he had to help with blowing out the candles and after we sang Happy Birthday 1 time he would ask us each to sing "Happy" over and over AGAIN! Again Merrick could not wait to get his hands in that frosting!!! Papa and Merrick loved the birthday cake! :)

After the party was over we headed out to play in the mud cause these days lately that's all we can play in if we go outside! Merrick again wanted Papa to come play too! Merrick stripped his boots off and went in with the socks! He had so much fun but got so messy that Lincoln blew the world up for him (aka the sprinkler ball from G'dma Luann--thanks Merrick LOVES it!) and that was our attempt in getting him somewhat clean before stripping him down to the tub! He loves water clean or dirty as you can see!!!

What a great weekend! We had a great time catching up with Dan and Tami and spending sometime as a family! We will catch ya all next week...until next time here is Merrick showing off his gifts from Maine from Papa and G'dma...Moose shorts, socks(yes he has ALL 3 pair on if you can't see!) and his Moose!
