"I peed..."

So I know that I may be a very proud mommy but yes Merrick peed in his potty today! The past month he has been telling us "I pooped, I peed, I tooted!" when in fact one of those functions have just occured. He had occasionally been asking to sit on the potty but our potty is to big for him to feel comfortable because it would take longer for me to take his diaper off than it would for him to jump off that potty. So I went to Target today and found this adorable potty that looks like a potty with his own roll of toilet paper, yet you can take the cushion chair and put it in the BIG potty when he is ready for the big potty and the bottom part turns into a step stool all for $20! I was VERY excited. So we came home and when Merrick needs his diaper change he will ask to go "potty" at times. Sure enough he did ask before nap. So when this happened I showed him his potty. We pointed to the new potty and said "Merrick's potty" and pointed to the BIG potty and said "Mommy and Daddy's potty." He immediatly sat down on "mine potty" and was on the potty for maybe 5 mins and exclaimed..."I PEED!" Sure enough he did! There was a HUGE production in the bathroom....lots of high fives and good jobs! He was BEAMING from ear to ear! He was SO proud of himself! I know the last picture is probably more than you wanted to see but I wanted people to see that yes indeed our brilliant 18 mo old peed in the potty. For those of you thinking he is to young to potty train I do not plan on making this and everytime he needs to pee or poo occurance but Hey! if he's asking to sit on the potty this mommy is gonna encourage it. It may take 6 mo til we are really pushing the potty training but I have a feeling with as smart as this kiddo as he is it won't be 6 mo!
