Growing...UP!

This week started off slow...lots of coughing, sniffles you know the bug EVERYONE has! Mommy still has the cough/sniffles but everyone else seems to have gotten rid of the cold stuff. Im pretty sure mine will/has turned into a sinus infection from the pressure I have (4th one in 6 months!) but I guess thats how I roll :) So we started the week off w/ lots of lay low time and movies!!

Then Tuesday came and we had to make a trip to the vet. Jazzi was one sick pup!!! For a little background she had been vomiting, drinking alot/peeing a lot (even some accidents) which Im telling you I could count on 2 fingers in the 4 yrs we've had her how many accidents she's had, very sad/tired acting and had lost quite a bit of weight and this all happened over 2 wks, but got progressively worse over Sunday and Monday! After meds, shots, blood draws, and some tests we found out she has pancreatitis. They say its from a fatty diet. She does get table scraps on occasion and nothing more than anyother dog gets Im sure but her pancrease can't seem to handle it. So whats this mean?? EXPENSIVE dog food and meds for 1 wk and she will hopefully be better. The vet thought it would be what eventually would be the end of her but hopefully w/ the change in diet we can stop the degeneration of the pancrease! Tuesday was very...emotional shall we say!

The rest of the week we laid pretty low cause Jazzi was on a pretty strict eating schedule (1/4 cup every 4 hrs! for 4 days) this was to help shut the pancrease down slowly to stop producing so many dangerous enzymes. Jazzi seems to be feeling better now and has played more in the past 48 hrs than she has in the past 2 wks!

Being home so much gave us plenty of time to play!!

Saturday daddy got called to work and being cooped up so much we called Grandma Lu and met her in Iowa City to take Merrick to the Children's museum and let him RUN! He had so much fun and was WORN out when we left...mission accomplished! ;)

We made Derby cars and raced them too...

Fished in the alphabet pond...Jumping like kangaroos...Then went to the play area in the mall and played!!! Can you see why now he was tired??

So did you notice the outfit change?? This lil boy is growing so fast we can barely keep up with him. In 6 wks time he has almost grown an entire INCH! This inch has caused him to go from 24 mo clothing to 3T (at least in shirts!)! He completely skipped 2T. We stopped at the big after Christmas sale to pick him up a few clothing items cause the sleeves on his shirts were getting too short and his belly would poke out the bottom cause the shirts were too short!!! Needless to say when he picked out a shirt he had to leave wearing one of them ;) He's growing TOO FAST!!!

***BIG NEWS***

Merrick pooped in the big boy potty Saturday morning for the 1st time EVER! He (TMI) has a hard time pooping on a daily basis so this was a HUGE ordeal when it happened and a few of you even got a picture message of the results (Sorry if that grossed you out) but we were excited! Merrick has been wearing big boy undies a lot more but has a hard time when he's busy...playing, out and about...remembering to go when he has to! Again like Ive said before he's only 2 so Im not gonna stress until he's 3 and still peeing his pants! We'll work again this week on the potty training issue...wish me luck! ;)
