Race weekend success!

We had a great weekend racing! The boys raced hard and their hard work paid off. Merrick had a goal this year to bring a plaque home and he did it! Little guy rode his heart out and placed 3rd! Couldn't be more proud of him!

Lincoln too had a great race and placed 5th. Both guys got some hardware for the keeps.

 

Maddox may be to young to race yet but he's definitely not too young to capture the ladies hearts and start his modeling career. He made the sponsor's Facebook page! Check out his first modeling shoot!

Our team is pretty awesome. A bunch of pretty amazing guys all big and little ones!

Starting fall fun

 We are soaking up each and every fall day outside. We ventured to the apple orchard after an early out yesterday and LOVED it! The boys RAN, picked apples, RAN some more, and ate warm apple cider donuts. In the littlest ones words "the apple farm that be fun!"

 

Merrick is still loving school and we have had good reports come home. Maddox tries every day to get on the bus with his brother! And every day when we pick Merrick up Maddox reminds him "Merrick I miss you at school"

And when the 2 are reunited they are T-R-O-U-B-L-E!! As I was making supper I hear LOTS of giggles coming from the hall, then the little one say "BOOBIES" and these 2 clowns appeared!

And that wraps it up...a day in the Taylor house!

1st day of kindergarten

The first day of kindergarten has come and gone. Kinda like I feel the last 5.5 yrs have! I blinked and he's in kindergarten!! He loves it! I knew he was more then ready to go and some days I was ready for him to go but then the time comes and I am choking back tears and wanna keep him home just a bit longer! He tells me he's already made new friends and LOVES to ride the bus! His excitement has definitely made this transition a bit easier but I still feel like my house is too quiet and a part of me is missing through out the day. Maddox has enjoyed the one on one time and playing with Merrick's toys without having to share. I'm sure this  change will get easier but for now I'm still dreading dropping him off for the bus tomorrow and thankful tomorrow is Friday and the weekend is near. Slow down little guy because this part of letting go is hard on mummy's heart! Love you big little man!!

Heartland Challenge 2014

This past weekend the boys participated in the Heartland Challenge. Merrick raced with team mate Waylon. Their race was 2.5 hrs long. The boys were the youngest team and placed 4th. Very proud if them! 

Lincoln and his team Scott & Jeff ran hard all 10 hrs of their race at 5th until a mechanical issue happened placing them 11th. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

We enjoyed a weekend doing something the family loves to do--race. Tomorrow is the start of our new--Merrick starts school. Check back soon for those pics!

Birthday Boy!

 We have had so much fun celebrating Maddox! He had Mickey pancakes for breakfast, donuts (his request) with his lil buddies at the park, a swim in the pool, and tacos for supper on his birthday.

Id say it was a good birthday for a special little 2yr old. He is such a blessing! Thank you to all for making his day special!

Summer fun

We have been in the heart of our summer activities! Merrick the last 2wks has enjoyed day camp and Bible camp. Doesn't day camp look like a blast?

With Merrick gone to camp, Maddox and I have enjoyed some 1:1 time and a few playdates with his buddy Ryder!

Last weekend marked the hottest and muddiest race of the season yet!

And of course you can't have summer in Iowa without SWEET CORN!!
